Delete account & data

You can use CartTogether with just a nickname on your device, or sign in with Apple or Google so the same account follows you. Either way you have an account you can delete from inside the app.

Shopping lists and history are stored on your phone. If you create or join a live shared cart, the cart contents and your nickname and presence are synced to our cloud database so the other people on the cart see updates in real time.

This is the fastest route and removes everything at once:

1. Open CartTogether and tap the settings gear
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Privacy
3. Tap Delete account
4. Confirm on the alert that appears

If you signed in with Apple or Google, the app may ask you to sign in once more first — that is Apple and Google confirming it is really you before an account is destroyed.

Confirming deletes, immediately and permanently:

• Your CartTogether account and its sign-in record
• Your lists, shopping history, templates and nickname on that phone
• Your member seat and reactions in every shared cart you were on

A shared cart with nobody left on it is deleted entirely. If other people are still on the cart, they keep their own copy of the list — your seat and your reactions are gone from it.

If you only want out of one cart, open that list’s share controls in the app and stop sharing. Your local copy stays; your live presence on that cart ends.

Deleting your account already wipes this. To also remove the app itself:

• iOS: Settings → General → iPhone Storage → CartTogether → Delete App. Reinstalling starts fresh.
• Android: Settings → Apps → CartTogether → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app.

Lost the phone, or already uninstalled? Email support [at] carttogether.app with:

• Subject line: “CartTogether data deletion request”
• The Apple or Google email you signed in with, if you used one
• Any cart join codes you want removed
• The nickname(s) you used on those carts

We will verify the request as reasonably as we can and delete or anonymize eligible data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited information for security, abuse prevention, or legal reasons.
